The latest update is up on the app store! In this episode, a mischievous vampire bat turns a sleeping islander into a rampaging vampire. The update was inspired by the app "iDracula" which we think is an awesome game. By the way, we are getting a lot of people saying their ipod is not compatible with Pocket God. iPhones and iPods SHOULD be able to get Pocket God, but they must have the 2.2 firmware upgrade! You should be able to get that from iTunes.

ReplyDeleteawesome job on the hi Dracula update. but one thing on the next update, you should consider making the water darker when its rainy, and the sky should be gray when its night and stormy like when its day. you should also be able to pick up the first vampire and make another so there is two so maybe they'll fight

ReplyDeleteI liked this new update but i was kinda expecting more. I thought the vampire would actually pick up the islanders one by one and throw them off, not just run around and bump them off. I wanted to see the islanders interact somehow. Whatever. Its still a really fun app

Tyler...i like the way you think. We may enhance some of the updates as we go and your critique is helpful. The weekly updates limit us sometimes :(...plus we are, along side updating, working on the graphics engine to handle more animation and art. Our current engine runs into memory limitations. Also our text and scoring piece is taking up a lot of time. But we still want to keep things interesting! And Jesi...it isn't an iPhone only update if you're referring to the "HI, Dracula" or "A mighty Wind"!

If you could be able to flick the water at the islanders, then they'll get all wet and freak out...while I was playing around with the new update, I started the flick the water thinking it would do something, but it didn't, so splashing the water would be fun....or even being able to make a whirlpool and make the islanding spin in circles...and I know this would get in the way of the shark, and any possible features, so u could be able to turn the water ability off in the new menu,

by far my most used app cant think of much to make current updates better only thing i would like to see in the menu arrow moved to the right hand side
ReplyDeleteI love all the fun new ways to torture the islanders, but sometimes I want to help these pygmies out. Maybe a future update could be something nice for them, because can't a God be merciful too?

ReplyDeleteOh, and Oliver. putting the menu arrow in the upper right corner was our first instinct. but the main reason for grouping them together has to do with the fact that most people are right handed and therefore need the right hand part of the screen to do god powers...plus there were many complaints of accidentally hitting the question mark when they turned the phone upside down. We'll take it under advisement, but the second we did that, there would be new requests asking us to put it back.

ReplyDeleteI love the new update, the vampire exploding is awesome. Here are a couple ideas, take what you want from them, if you want.
ReplyDelete1. It is an island, so I think there should be waves that could start if you brushed your finger across the wave into an islander, the wave carries hime accross the screen. Maybe in the same way you control lightning by brushing your finger from the thunder cloud to the pygmie.
2. The whole game is about killing, maybe you should be able to do something nice to them. Haha.
3. Boy & Girl Pygmies, they come randomly during the plus sign, (i.e. you can't choose) One could be wearing a pink skirt and make-up (Sound horrible, but you can do something cool with it)
4. If you tap three times on the nose of the stone-head he sneezes, blowing all the pygmies into the air or into the water.
5. A treasure chest somewhere on the island appears every once in a while, if a pygmie finds it he gets a special surprise (I don't know what.. lol, maybe a power, or something that makes him special)
6. At night time, when you find a shooting star, if your fast enough to tap it something espcial happens (Again, I don't know what, haha)
Those are just random thoughts. :]
hey bolt, quick thing. will the islanders ever start fighting each other, or is that low priority. and i was thinking, some good things you can do to islanders, maybe if you double tap them they could be promoted, like to chief or something, or you can feed them or give them a ball to kick around to each other...

And I thought it was clever and thoughtful on where you got the idea. I had some thoughts on adding to this monster themed pocket god...
1. Aliens From Another Planet.
2. Werewolf
3. Zombies... Classic epidemic turning pygmies to zombies and when you tap the screen they dance to thriller!
These are some simple ideas with not much thought but i thought it would stir it up at bit. And on an entirely different note i was wondering about the point system. Everyone is so excited for it but what do they mean by it? Acheivements for accomplishing certain tasks like Xbox and Ps3? or doing certain tasks and unlocking things to add to your little paradise?
actually that's a really good idea i just thought of, give them a ball and they play with it...and then you could either get it stuck in the tree, pop it, or put it in the water and it will float away...please reply to this and tell me what you think

ReplyDeleteI have an idea... when a "normal" islander see the eclipse it gets scared and cover its eye with his hands.

ReplyDeleteOk guy numba 1. Here is a hint. What is similar to the moon and can be moved? Also, can you guys maybe make it so, the special object that causes the eclipse stay in eclise form? That would be a good update to some type of house cleaning update.
ReplyDeleteIt is extremely difficult to tap the moon and make the vampire appear! Am I the only one that finds it difficult? Also it is difficult to preform the eclipse because the meteor floats under your finger. It would be more effective and less annoying if it stayed directly under your finger instead of below your finger. (and I emailed you at the address you provided for beta testing)

I had a good idea when it came to the point system. maybe there is a god meter and you are in the middle. every time you do something nice the bar goes to the right and when you do something mean it goes to the right. Also, there are subsections on that bar that when you reach it you get achievements and when you do them you get a prize and pushed either to the left or right. Hello, the update was nice but I thought it could be better.
ReplyDeleteI like the Tyler dudes idea, but what if an infected vampire could try and bite other islanders. And the islanders run around and try to avoid being bitten. Then using (tylers idea) when the infected vampire gets annoyed because he might not be able to get other islanders he would grab them, pick them up, or even better, launch them high into the air to land in the volcano. That would be awsome!

im actually having a problem: the touch portion of the game is being extremely sensitive... the touch of an islander makes it fly away or simply moving it makes it disappear...
ReplyDeleteI love your app great job. I think their should be an update where you can add and remove stars during night mode. Like in Brouce all mighty. And be able to change the moon to full and half and crest or what ever. And be able to make commetes fly acrost the sky. And maby have one crash in to the island and crash the vilidgers off and then have an allien come out or some thing. Also add other life soon. Thanks for the great app. Sorry about the spelling.

ReplyDeletevery good app, however i would definatly like to be able to customise my island and make it bigger perhaps, or have multiple islands with rafts between them
ReplyDeleteyou would make a raft my using lighting on a tree and then the isanders push it into water, on the other island you could have different trees, other types of islanders (mabey more intelegent)
another idea could be making your islanders fight with eacher
