Busy Month! Much Needed Blog Post!

Hey guys. Sorry for neglecting the blog. We still run pretty lean and mean here, so if I'm not blogging it's because I work day and night on designing and animating the next update! So let's do a check-in one by one...

Pocket God- Episode 39 (sneak peak of new island above) was submitted last weekend and we are awaiting approval. This episode adds a new twist to all the Pocket God functions and pays homage to all 39 episodes. It also sets PG up for a great new mini-game that will require -gasp- strategy! That should be out by next week at the latest.

Facebook Ep. 7 - Supersize PygME is now live! You can now buy magic mushrooms which the Pygmies can eat...causing them to enlarge! We couldn't do this on the iPhone because of graphic size constraints, but it works great on Facebook! And we have tons of new features planned...as well as optimizations (for game play and faster loading) so stay tuned...If you haven't already, join today! It just gets better and better!

Pocket God the Comic - Part 2 of Tale of Two Pygmies is just about finished in the coloring process. Our artist was down sick, so it is a bit delayed, but we have hired more artists to help speed up the issue release...and this is thanks to awesome sales! We were on a phone call with Ape Entertainment and not only is the next story AFTER ToTP nearly written, with art already in progress, but we are mapping out THREE more 4 issue story arcs after that. And we group them into 4 -issue sagas, but there is an over-arching story that expands and explains the Pygmies' world. Can't wait to see how it comes out! Hopefully we will get the system in place where they come out faster!

But in the meanwhile, the Pygmy Peril #6 has arrived (Pygmy Perils are all free with purchase of app)! Ape's new editor, Matt Anderson, gets his first taste of the Pygmy World...and Dave writes about how to program games, as well as the usual letters to the editor.

Journey To Uranus - We're currently working on the next update which should be done by next week....but the central focus of this update is NOT what you think! More on this later.

Also, we have a few other irons in the fire but I do want to address something I've seen mentioned. There has been grumbling we never quite got our plushes off the ground. We had some major problems lining up a competent manufacturer, and it just turned out to be too difficult and time-consuming for us to do on our own. But the solution is on it's way! More on THAT later as well.

  2. Are you still ginna write a "State Of The Island"? Also does this mean pocket god is close to ending?

  3. Dave has been holding off on the state of the island because our PR company tries to get other gamer sites to publish the info for publIcity. If we spill the beans beforehand, it's not "News". He will publish his SOTI after our PR company has generated the publicity. We're so corporate now!

It's a good question. Does episode 40 mark the end of the Pocket God updates? No, I don't think so. But, while there were still sales, we wanted to make sure the game was left with a structure that encouraged people who came in late to go find all the episodes. It will also tie into the facebook game (more on that later) But I think the updates will stop when we have an official Pocket God II out. Journey To Uranus doesn't really count, it's more like an unofficial Pocket God 2.5.

  6. Hello Creators of Pocket God,
I have a few ideas regarding a future update. It involves the addition of a new god power, precipitation. You would be able to create rain, snow or hail. Depending on how much you decide to make it rain, the island will flood. Once this has happened other god powers can be used to kill the pygmies. For example, if you strike the flooded water with lightning all of the pygmies get electrocuted because they are in water. You could also have the shark hunt the pygmies while they are in the water. For the snowing feature you could create a covering of snow on the island. Using the gravity feature you could create snow drifts. Once this has happened you would be able to add additional features to interact with the snowsheet. Hail would be pretty strait forward. Basically if the pygmy is hit by hail he falls in the water. In order to get rid of the flood waters and snow you would use the temperature feature that was added a few updates ago. You could melt the snow to get rid of it. For the water you could freeze it with the pygmies inside or let it steam away with heat (rainbow?). Basically this added feature would add a new touch to god powers already added. I am guessing this would be a mini update? Please consider this idea. I love your game and think it is very creative! Keep the updates coming! Thanks.

  10. Hmmm... is there no way at all you could bring several of the ideas from the Facebook game over to iPhone PG? The customisation aspects and female pygmies, especially?

Heck, I just wish a sequel, that is essentially FB PG, could be released for the iPhone...

  11. Hmmm I too am looking forward to the 2nd pocket god.
Shame journey to Uranus is iPad only.
Anyway how long does it usually take upon submitting an update to getting it approved?
Also when is this "news" coming out and on what site?
Thanks and "we want the update now!"

  12. Would a Pocket God 2 be developed for iPhone and Android at the same time, you have a huge fanbase on Android and, speaking for myself, am feeling left out :(

  13. i think a great idea would be on pg fb as an update you can mind control pygmies and press the the left and right keys to move them to other pygmies when they are close you can press space bar to take out a knife and space bar again to stab the other pygmies and yes i do play too many violent video game

  15. One idea is to make war island. The pocket god people would be at war against each other or against another tribe somewhat like the pygmys with a few customizations (darker skin, lighter hair, longer teeth, etc.) you could set the aggresiveniess level and eathor help your tribe or the other with already known god powers. You could give any team a spair or sword. This would be an interesting update especially if there was levels and achievments.

  21. One suggestion that I have, on PG Uranus, could you make a control to toggle gravity? Also, it would be fun if you made an iPad version of Pocket God and brought PG Uranus to other platforms like Android. Speaking of Android, could you update Android's Pocket God so it at least has the updates prior to double rainbow? It would be fun if you could also update Android's pocket God for all the chapters. If not, could you at least update it to Charlie? Thanks!
