Pocket God is Compatible on iPhone and iPod Touch!

This post is just an announcement to the people on iTunes that are leaving one star reviews that we aren't compatible on iPod. That of course is NOT true...The folks at Apple has said they will remove postings that are not true (technically) if we ask them to, but instead, we just ask everyone to please post counter-reviews saying they have and iPod and successfully downloaded the latest PG update. But YES 3.0 is required. We apologize for the confusion, but the fact is that eventually ALL apps will be 3.0 compatible (probably when 4.0 comes out). Trust me, you can't fight it. I've tried! Thanks, everyone.

NEW NOTE: Actually, a really helpful thing would be to go to the iTunes review...and click on the comments, and then pick 3 comments on the first page that aren't saying Pocket God is incompatible with iPod Touches and click on YES under "is this review helpful".

NEWER NOTE: GREAT JOB guys! looks like we have some better comments at the top. If you have nothing to do, go ahead and repeat the process and select a review that is positive...the deal is that the list gets ordered by 'how helpful it is'.

  1. I really don't like that Pocket God is 3.0 only AND slipping.

I have 3.1, so it really doesn't matter but I'm disappointed Pocket God isn't in the ranks it should be. Had you stuck with 2.2.1, you'd most likely be at #15 or even in the top 10... are sales the only thing that matter?

  2. We weren't huge fans of the ranking slipping, either, but we were facing ranking slippage no matter what we did. Our choice was to let go of PG and start a new project, or see if we could evolve PG in a way that made development more sustainable...or get left behind and eat the dust of the EA's, Gamelofts, etc. I'm surprised at the resistance to upgrading since the price drop, but I also think a lot of people, particularly kids who have to conserve their money, don't quite understand how it works. Apple will eventually make it so you HAVE to upgrade or you'll miss out on must-get software. It happens on computers all the time.

  3. I still say a Pocket God music & sound effects EP would bring in a lot of money.

So how about it Bolt Creative guys? Can we expect to see a Pocket God EP in the near future?

  4. This is your fault PG and you deserve it. You might as well require the app to be 5.99 because to get 3.0 I have to pay 4.99. This is not fair as when I bought the app it promised future updates, which I no longer get. I used to love this app, but right now, I am going to rate it 1 star.

  6. I think that Dave and Allen believe people are smarter than they actually are. Put it in bold letters in the app description, that it works only with 3.0, but it will work with ipods and iphones. Another thing you need to make clear is the time it takes for apple to approve the the updates, the message still has not gotten across yet.
These little things will go a long way in boosting sales. the average person is like an undecided voter (yes, family guy reference) they have no clue what they are talking about but troll on anyways. You guys are smart for making this game and continuing it, but not everyone else is.

In the next update, put COMPATIBLE WITH IPODS 3.0 AND HIGHER in the app
sorry for my rant, but you guys are noobs at this whole development thing. But, the best damn noobs that the world has seen since Steve Jobs making computers. you will go far with your careers

    @gilbert
yes, of course the sales are, dave and allen have to eat don't they?

  7. I don't mind having to upgrade. With the new update I love how it doesn't need much memory. I have a 3.0 jailbroken ipod touch (I'm not into the getting apps for free thing) and the new update works fine.

  8. I believe this is perfectly acceptable reasoning. I'm a kid who has to conserve his money, but what better use for spending my money than to have access to many 3.0-only applications and Pocket God? I mean, it's only $5 now, and you are getting more than just future updates to PG by getting the update!

  10. Haha. The t-rex skin pack is my new favorite part of this app. A word of advice from a consumer-- people like useless things. (maybe that's why they bought this app:))No, what I mean is, we like customizable little easter eggs. The skin pack was a step in the right direction. A measly $.99 for an awesome dinosaur? It'll all start adding up.
My plaudits to your marketing strategies.

  11. it really sucks about the 3.0 but im going to be stupid and post this where it dosent belong sorry. the sacrifice to gift ratios need to change now that becoming a ghost is a gift and putting them into the light is only worth one sacrifice. it is becoming impossible to keep the pygmys miserable. perhaps changing it to one sacrifice equals one gift could be helpful. also what if a happy pygmy got spoiled making it harder to keep happy (sacrifices are worth more) or a depressed pygmy that will appreciate the little things (making gifts worth more.
