Preview: Stop My App is On Fire
So, we have no idea when the next update is coming out. Apple's delays combined with the newest trend for the bigger publishers to drop their price, has sent us downward, but actually the sales seem to be hanging in there. So, since its taking so long, Dave asked me to post a couple sneak shots of the update to tie people over.

What is going to be "flipping the bird" about?
I think you're trying to cram way too many small features into such a small game. It's like a small pond with way too many fish. You need to make the pond bigger before throwing more fish in!

ReplyDeleteLooks great! I hope this update doesn't take 4 weeks like some other apps I have. It almost seems like it would be better to have a monthly release instead of attempting a weekly/bi-weekly one.

ReplyDeletewe have a fire now.... But we have to strike it with lightning to start, why not add some more fuctionality to the magnifing glass and let that start tge fire as well. Of course that would bring up menu problems because on the first island only one item (rock, fish, ants) can be on at a time, but maybe an exception could be made for it?
no offence but i really liked this game when it 1st came out but now its just boring. i think flight control is a way better game and it makes good use of the 3.0 thing with the peer to peer gameing. i think you should add something like this in your next update because you can even see on this blog that popularity is going. or add a poll at the side of your blog so you know what ppl want.

ReplyDeleteLooks Fun! You should have a second bowling of pygmies especially for the burnt people. You should have a separate reward division for cooked fish.
ReplyDeleteredteablogs..... thanks for the feedback. we are shooting for the update after to do 3.0 push functions. We've already developed the front end but are waiting to see if the back end will be ready. I will also say that the update after Flipping the Bird will have the biggest mini-game yet.

ReplyDeleteThe X on the outhouse means you've disabled the outhouse feature from the menu.
ReplyDeleteI fear that the idea of Oogmie (pygmy for those of you that believe that it is not official) customization would overload the Pocket God app. It would cause loading failures and terminal errors. Not to mention total system blackouts. The idea is also not that well thought through and bores me and my fellow Pocket God colleuges. PS: I can't wait for the next update!!!!!! I agree that apple should hire more people to review updates and make everyone's lives easier. :)

Lol..the "X" on the outhouse is just a setting in the menu that makes it so the pygmys can't go to the bathroom. Im not sure if they still blow up though..

ReplyDeletehere are some future ideas listed from coolest to not as cool
1: be able to select a guy a choose a mini god power from a list and give it or take away
2: Fights and anger between islanders
3: giant squid to toggle after tsunami while underwater and have them fight it like the trex
4:birds and/or animals to ride.
5: visitors and more weapons (tied)
6: changing temp
7: more islands
8: be able to tease vampires (like the shark) by holding guys over them
9: prisons
10: bigger island or smaller guys
P.S. i love how if you make a vampire then make it daytime he suffers :P

2nd -->FIGHTS<-- and anger and love (make female pygmys)between pygmys
3rd giant squid to fight (like t rex) in underwater mode
4th weapons for me and mini ones for pygmys
5th change temperature
6th when you grab a pygmy and put another finger on it and move your fingers apart it splits pygmy in half
7th when you bring a pygmy to top of screen (after scroll) and drop him he should splat
8th visitors
9th animals (BIRDS) to ride
10th multiple vampires
These will make it go into the top 5 probably :P P.S. i like how you can make a vampire then make it day time and he suffers

The update looks pretty cool but it will probably be another one that I play for a day then never go back to until the next update, just like most of the other ones. I really like Pocket God, but the updates are just not good anymore. You need to finally start to make content from all the previous updates interact with eachother. Heres some examples:
ReplyDelete-make the shark be in the underwater location
-make the vampire do something special to the Trex
-make the Trex affected by hurricanes, tsunamis, and its own egg being dropped on it
-make the vampire do something special underwater
-make the ants eat a fish on the ground
These are just examples how you can make all content interact with eachother. If you don't, the updates will all just be boring ones that are played once then forgotten till the next week. You should just take a few weeks and make one big update that makes all the content (or at least most of it) interact with eachother. (Because Apple takes so long to approve anyway, why not take awhile for a big update.) This would take Pocket God to another level and would boost sales.
